口語(yǔ)中常常不拘泥于單一的詞匯，那為什么不學(xué)習(xí)一些禮貌的英語(yǔ)表達(dá)呢？這樣可以為自己加分哦。
1. 撒謊不說(shuō)lie
表達(dá)撒謊，可以用到economical with the truth這個(gè)短語(yǔ)，它的意思是“隱瞞真相；撒謊”。可以這么理解：
economical表示“經(jīng)濟(jì)的；省錢(qián)的；節(jié)約的”，對(duì)事實(shí)真相都很節(jié)約，也就是不完全說(shuō)出真相的意思，這是一種幽默的表達(dá)。
He was being economical with the truth.
他的話與真相不符。
2. 去世不說(shuō)die
其實(shí)關(guān)于死翹翹有很多表達(dá)，這里就來(lái)盤(pán)點(diǎn)一下：
go west／go to heaven
去西天/上天堂
gone for a Burton/burton
喪命/失蹤
breathe your last
咽氣，死
have found rest
得到安息
give up the ghost
斷氣
snuff it
死亡，斷氣
3. 廁所不說(shuō)toilet
其實(shí)關(guān)于廁所或者衛(wèi)生間也很很多表達(dá)，比如toilet，lavatory，rest room。如果要禮貌得體的表達(dá)，可以這么說(shuō)：
the little boy's room
男衛(wèi)生間
ladies' room
女衛(wèi)生間，女洗手間
4. 失業(yè)不說(shuō)unemployed
提到失業(yè)，很多人會(huì)想到out of work或者unemployed，但是如果要委婉一點(diǎn)，你可以用到between jobs，“處于待業(yè)中”。
Tom always seems to be between jobs.
湯姆好像一直都處于失業(yè)狀態(tài)。
5. 性不說(shuō)sex
當(dāng)父母向小孩子進(jìn)行性啟蒙教育的生活，常常會(huì)用到the birds and the bees來(lái)指代性的基本知識(shí)。
大家都知道，蜜蜂（bees）攜帶花粉使花朵受精，這可以理解成雄性受精。鳥(niǎo)類（birds）產(chǎn)蛋，這可以比喻為女性排卵。
She's only six, but she already knows about the birds and the bees.
她雖然只有6歲，卻已經(jīng)懂得性方面的基本知識(shí)。
6. 解雇不說(shuō)fire
解雇裁員不容易，我們可以說(shuō)成let someone go。
We had to let fourteen employees go last month.
上個(gè)月我們不得不解雇了十四名員工。
6. 無(wú)家可歸不說(shuō)homeless
無(wú)家可歸，只得流落街頭，所以可以用on the streets形容流浪在街頭的人。
Some of these people have been living on the streets for years.
這些人中有一些已經(jīng)流落街頭好幾年了。
7. 瘋狂不說(shuō)crazy
這個(gè)表達(dá)不是很常見(jiàn)：a few sandwiches short of a picnic。對(duì)很多人來(lái)說(shuō)，野餐必備三明治，要是少了三明治簡(jiǎn)直就是瘋狂的舉動(dòng)。
He's obviously a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic!
他很明顯就是個(gè)腦袋有問(wèn)題的白癡！
8. 殺不說(shuō)kill
殘酷地射殺動(dòng)物是put animals down。put sth to sleep就是讓（生病或很老的動(dòng)物）無(wú)痛苦地死去，也就是我們所說(shuō)的“安樂(lè)死”。
